Activity 3 Results
On October 26 and 27 we hosted Activity 3, in which students were asked to come up with paths in the wikipedia network starting from the page “Jersey Shore” to the page “Condorcet” (which actually redirects to “Marquis de Condorcet”). Scoring was based on the path length (shorter the better) and the extent of overlap with other paths.
There were 14 submissions in total, and the winner goes to John Urbanik with the path:
Jersey Shore -> Barnegat Lighthouse -> Fresnel Lens -> Condorcet
This path is remarkably short (2 instead of 3 intermediate pages, and 3 is the smallest possible found by automatic tools), while it has no overlap with other submitted paths.
