Online Surveys

We have put together an online survey to ask people what they think about multi-resource fairness. We ask people to act as a datacenter operator and give their resource allocation preferences in a simplified 'toy' scenario, where jobs from two different clients have heterogeneous resource requirements over multiple resources (CPU and storage). Each of the six questions offers five different options of distributing resources among the two clients, with each option resulting in a particular outcome. For each question, we ask you to rank the five allocation options in decreasing order of preference.

On this site, we present an overview of our survey results, based on 143 responses from faculty, students, and staff, mainly in the electrical engineering departments of various universities. But we are still taking responses--the survey takes about ten minutes (and is completely anonymous): check it out here.
